Music & Drama

At Hindringham School we really love our music and drama!

Many of our pupils are learning to play an instrument – children of all ages can receive tuition on brass, woodwind and violin.

Six guitars were recently purchased by the Friends of Hindringham School for the Guitar Club which meets weekly.

We have just won a “Widening Opportunities” grant – which enables every child in class 2 (ages 7, 8 & 9) to learn an instrument in this current academic year. We have chosen keyboard to complement our existing music provision and to provide those already playing woodwind or brass with a second instrument.

We also have an active school choir, which performs regularly at church and village events.

Twice a year we put on drama productions. Class One’s traditional Nativity Play is a great favourite with parents and pupils alike, and last year Class Three wowed the critics with an ambitious production of “Romeo and Juliet”.

“The school has a strong presence in local music and drama festivals. These experiences widen pupils’ horizons and the school’s expectations foster excellent social and moral development and behaviour.” OFSTED 2008
