Extra Curricular Activities

The parents (a great majority) who answered OFSTED’s questionnaire seeking their views, during November’s inspection, supported by an overwhelming margin all aspects of the school’s work. Several parents added their own comments.
A typical response, mentioned by the inspector, says:
In the very supportive and helpful ethos of the school “my child has blossomed”.

At Hindringham School we view all extra-curricular activities as a fundamental and integral part of the pupils’ learning experience.

There is something to capture the interest of everyone and persuade them to have a go, from the book club to gardening, from street dancing to the orchestra and from French to tree-planting. The children also have the chance to contribute to the successful life of Hindringham Primary through the School Council.

We arrange as many trips as possible, either locally (such as Blickling, Holkham Hall, Felbrigg and Sandringham) or further afield, for example London’s National Gallery and York’s Jorvik Centre. Each year the Year 6 leavers enjoy a camping trip.

Plans are afoot for Hindringham to make greater use of a shared mini-bus to open up more opportunities for learning visits and sporting events.

The parish church, St Martin’s, plays an active part in the life of the school. It provides a beautiful and historic setting for our celebration services at Christmas, Easter and Harvest time. We are usually joined at these events by members of the village community, as well as parents, grandparents and friends.
